    Wanted felon from Paso Robles arrested in Cayucos

    Fordyce was wanted for a felony probation violation

    – On Friday, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information that Michael Fordyce, a wanted felon, was spotted in the area of the 600 block of South Ocean Avenue in Cayucos. Fordyce was wanted for a felony probation violation.

    Deputies searched his vehicle and discovered a firearm inside the car.

    When deputies arrived on the scene, Fordyce was gone but his car remained at that location. Deputies searched the vehicle and discovered a firearm inside the car.

    An extensive search was conducted of the area utilizing members of the Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, Sheriff’s Deputies, a CHP helicopter, and a State Parks’ K9. After approximately four hours, Fordyce was located on the beach at the south end of Cayucos. He was arrested and taken into custody without incident. Fordyce was booked into County Jail for numerous charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, resisting a law enforcement officer, and violating his probation.
