Wanted parolee arrested in San Luis Obispo

–On Monday, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s Fugitive Apprehension Team in searching for wanted parolee Jason Michael Atkins. Deputies spotted Atkins as a passenger of a vehicle that was driving in San Luis Obispo near the area of Walnut and Peach Streets.

When deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Atkins fled the vehicle and the vehicle took off. A search for Atkins was begun which included deputies, a Sheriff’s K9, San Luis Obispo Police Officers, CHP and Cal Fire. A short time later, Atkins was located hiding in the garage of a residence on Peach Street. He was taken into custody without incident.
