Grant will help support curatorial management and archival initiatives at the museum

– The Estrella Warbirds Museum has received a $5,000 grant from The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County. This grant will be used toward computer system updates, scanning equipment, and peripherals for the Estrella Warbirds Museum curator’s office. In updating the museum’s computer system, stewardship of the collection will more efficiently serve the community in preserving military archives and historical legacy.

Estrella Warbirds Museum is dedicated to the restoration, preservation and display of military aircraft, vehicles and memorabilia and commemorates those who served in military aviation and in other military roles. The museum was founded in 1992 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located at 4251 Dry Creek Road, in Paso Robles.

The museum was chosen to receive this grant and is among 24 recipients, whose grants total $193,635. This year’s grantmaking program is made possible through the support of the foundation’s community endowment and many donor funds held at the foundation.

In 16 years, the CFSLOCO has given out more than $26 million in grants to assist nonprofit agencies. For more information on the CFSLOCO or any funds, call (805) 543-2323 or log onto www.cfsloco.org.
