    Weekend of classic cars, festivities returns to Atascadero 

    Weekend of events kicks off Aug. 15 with Hot El Camino Cruise Nite

    – The city of Atascadero will host its annual Cruisin’ Weekend on Aug. 15-16, featuring the 32nd Annual Hot El Camino Cruise Nite, the 34th Annual Mid-State Cruizers Car Show, and the 9th Annual Dancing in the Streets.

    Hot El Camino Cruise Nite will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 in downtown Atascadero. The event will feature 350 restored classic cars from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as vehicles from earlier and later years, cruising up and down El Camino Real until 8:30 p.m. Registration for classic cars has sold out.

    The Mid-State Cruizers Car Show will take place Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Atascadero Lake Park. Attendees can view a variety of antique cars.

    Dancing in the Streets will begin at 5 p.m. Aug. 16 in downtown Atascadero. Entertainment will include performances by the Cassie B Band, the Molly Ringwald Project, the Steppin’ Out Band, and the 90’s Babiez Ultimate Party Band. Special appearances will feature the California Mid-State Fair Queen’s Court and 805 Movement & Performance Arts.

    Food trucks will include Cowboy Caribe BBQ, Puerto El Grande, Santa Maria Tri-tip Co., Huatulco Tacos, Mary’s Cuisine, Templeton Greek Food, Wandering Eats, Zen Dog, Rocky Bay Farm, Atascadero High School Greybots, G. Brothers Kettle Corn, The Dough Connection, Ohana Whip Wagon, Paradise Shaved Ice, El Churro Guy, and Crave Mini Donuts.

    Beer, wine, cider, margaritas, and distilled spirits will be available for purchase. Beverage proceeds will benefit the Central Coast Zoo through the Friends of the Charles Paddock Zoo.
