Why more kids should play soccer in Paso Robles

–Soccer is the biggest sport in the world and is played and watched by millions of people all around the globe. It’s played in Paso Robles too, with the Templeton High School girls soccer team making a name for themselves in the local area, but the area – and the country as a whole – could do with more soccer teams.

Soccer and playing it on the weekends is a large part of British society, for example. Many children in the UK play with their friends in a Saturday morning little league, alongside adults who try to regain some fitness with a kick about on Sunday afternoons with some buddies. The ultimate aim is to have some fun and soccer provides that, but it’s also a lot easier to arrange a soccer game than, say, a baseball session as all you need is a soccer ball, some goal posts (sweaters will suffice) and you’re good to go. Of course, it’s tempting to stay indoors and take in a show on Netflix, or fly high with Kingdoms Rise: Scorching Clouds slots, but we should all be excising more and soccer is a great way of doing so. There’s a reason it’s so popular around the world!

With soccer showing signs of growth here in the United States, more and more people are taking up the beautiful game. Children are too, but with so many other sports to choose from, why should your kids play soccer? Here are a few reasons as to why.

Soccer improves your child’s communication skills

Playing soccer and building relationships with fellow players or new coaches is a vital ingredient when it comes to helping your child integrate into new surroundings. For example, if your child lands a job in future life, they’ll feel a lot less intimidated at the prospect of their first day as they’ll be used to being in a team atmosphere. The ability to work effectively in a team setting is a skill many people struggle to acquire, but soccer certainly helps children adapt to it at a young age, and in a fun way too.

Soccer improves health and general fitness

The game of soccer is a physically demanding sport compared to the likes of baseball. The amount of ground many top soccer stars cover in a match is frankly ridiculous on occasions. It’s a game that rarely stops, it is full of intense, high energy action, and it’s not just about brute strength or force, which can perhaps be levelled at American Football at times. Soccer is skilful, but it also requires excellent fitness to run around the field for a full 90 minutes, so it’s a great way to improve a child’s overall health.

Soccer teaches discipline

Hard work and discipline are vital in any sport, but also soccer too. The higher you get, and the more advanced the standard of soccer is that you play in, the higher the demands are. A commitment to improving is something we can apply to all areas in life, but it makes it a lot easier if you’ve already mastered that as a child in your soccer team.

Soccer helps to develop strong friendships

Ultimately, many parents want their child to have a fun experience and meet some friends along the way. Soccer is a great sport for that as you’re part of a team environment and surrounded by likeminded individuals who like the same game as you do. Soccer is also a great environment for parents to make new friends, too, with many social events happening away from the field.
