    Wind-driven wildfire burns hill near Alder Creek Apartments 

    Firefighters able to extinguish blaze in 25 minutes

    –A brush fire burned over an acre of grass near Nicklaus Road, but off Niblick Road Monday afternoon. The call came into Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services at 4:45, and the first fire truck was on the scene within five minutes. They discovered a wind-driven wildfire covering about an acre on a small hill in a canyon just east of Nicklaus Road, near the Alder Creek Apartments. Two fire engines and a Battalion Chief from Paso Robles responded. Thirteen firefighters were required to bring the situation under control.

    Additional assistance was provided by the Cal Fire Air Attack Plane.

    The fire was contained at approximately 5:10. The cause is still under investigation.
