Winemaker releases video explaining how to produce high-quality pinot noir in Paso Robles

–In his latest video winemaker Paul Frankel explains how he’s able to produce high quality, estate grown, Pinot Noir on the east side of Paso Robles, a warmer climate area typically known for big, bold cabernets and zinfandels. In the video, which is the latest in his “Notes From the Winemaker” series, he explains how a combination of a perfect micro-climate, the right vine clones, and a yeast specifically designed for warm weather Pinots all lead to the perfectly crafted Paso Style Pinot Noir. With this video and his participation in the upcoming Paso Pinot and Paella event Frankel is trying to change the perception of Pinot Noir as a grape only grown in cool climates or coastal zones, exclaiming in the video, “Paso Robles can grow Pinot Noir!”

Frankel is the winemaker at Sculpterra Winery, located in the Linne Valley on the east side of Paso Robles. Sculpterra has been creating their distinctive Pinot Noir since 2008.

Watch the video below:

To try their latest release of Pinot Noir you can visit Sculpterra Winery’s tasting room and sculpture garden located at 5015 Linne Rd. Paso Robles, CA, or you can visit them this Sunday, June 4, at the Paso Pinot and Paella Festival at Templeton Park.
