Winery’s 2021 vintage earns 90+ ratings from Wine Enthusiast
– Pelletiere Estate Winery has announced the recognition of its 2021 vintage with prestigious ratings from Wine Enthusiast. The 2021 Nebbiolo Riserva and 2021 Lagrein Riserva both earned 92 points, while the 2021 Montepulciano received 91 points. These ratings place the wines in the esteemed category of 90+ points, signifying excellence.
Wine Enthusiast awards 90+ points to the most impressive wines, with 90-93 points considered excellent. 2021 Nebbiolo Riserva – 92 Points, Cellar Selection
“Cleanly delivered aromas of boysenberry, black plum and light spice are fresh and vibrant on the nose of this bottling. A firm, leathery grip frames the acid-driven, rather ripe fruit flavors, which are dusted in pepper and herb. It’s quite young, so drink 2026-2042,” said Matt Kettmann of Wine Enthusiast.
2021 Lagrein Riserva – 92 Points
“There’s an impressive purity of fruit that shines through on the nose of this bottling, with a strong black currant streak that’s leveled in graphite and desert herb aromas. The palate is vibrant with cassis, violet and pepper flavors, as firm tannins hold the ripeness together,” said Matt Kettmann of Wine Enthusiast.
2021 Montepulciano – 91 Points
“Ripe berry aromas are quite extracted but wrapped in alluringly dense spice scents on the nose of this estate bottling. The palate is bold, thick and powerful, yet those bright blackberry and pepper flavors are wrapped in leathery tannins that cling deep into the finish,” said Matt Kettmann of Wine Enthusiast.
