    – Winter Wonderland will return to Atascadero for a snow-filled event on Friday, Dec. 13, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Over 70 tons of snow will transform the city’s Sunken Gardens and downtown area into a winter spectacle.

The event will feature a major snow pile and a large snow slide built by the Kiwanis Club of Atascadero, Atascadero Hay & Feed, and Cuesta Springs Ice Company. Other snow-themed attractions include Joe’s Little Train, obstacle courses, gladiator joust, bounce houses, and bungee jump, along with face painting, a visit from the California Mid-State Fair Queen’s court, and Santa and his elves.winter wonderland 3

Holiday shoppers can browse items from more than 50 craft and food vendors while enjoying musical performances at historic Atascadero City Hall. The entertainment schedule includes performances by the Atascadero High School Cheer Team, Fine Arts Academy Monarch Choir, Atascadero High School Jazz Band, and more.

Santa will make an appearance at the snow slide area and later at city hall until 8 p.m.

The event is free to attend, but attendees are encouraged to bring their wallets to purchase holiday gifts and goodies available at the event.
