Woman arrested for attempted murder 

Witnesses say that a dispute between neighbors led to the shooting

– Loretta Dean Lopez, a 57-year-old woman from Oceano, has been arrested for attempted murder by deputies from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.

Lopez was allegedly involved in a shooting in the 700 block of Jetty Avenue in Oceano on Friday. According to witnesses, a dispute between neighbors led to the shooting.

Witnesses say Lopez was brandishing a gun when a shot was fired which hit a male victim in the abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital with what appears to be a non-life threatening wound.

Lopez was detained at the scene and later arrested for attempted murder. She was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail. The investigation is continuing. No further information is available at this time.
