Woman arrested for intentionally setting fire in Salinas Riverbed

Samantha Parker was arrested for starting the fire and for narcotic violations.

–On Saturday at approximately 9:09 a.m., Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the riverbed adjacent to 3200 Sulphur Springs Road, just north of the Highway 46 East bridge.

First arriving firefighters found a 20’x20′ spot actively burning around trees and brush. Firefighters were able to contain the fire within 10 minutes and worked to fully extinguish the fire over the next hour.

Two fire engines, one paramedic squad, and one battalion chief from Paso Robles responded. Paso Robles Police Department also responded for traffic control and investigation.

The cause of the fire appeared to be intentionally set. First arriving firefighters noted a suspect fleeing the area upon initial arrival. Paso Robles Police officers were able to locate a local resident Samantha Parker, who was arrested for starting the fire and narcotic violations. She was transported to San Luis Obispo County Jail.
