Woman attacks officers after driving wrong-way on 101, crashing into fence 

new laws california–Early Tuesday morning at approximately 4:08 a.m., Templeton California Highway Patrol officers responded to a call of a wrong-way driver on Highway 101 southbound. The driver, who has been identified as 37-year-old Jennifer Martin, got on and drove northbound in the southbound lanes of US-101 from Highway-46 West, near the Target Shopping Center in Paso Robles. The driver crashed shortly after when she drove into the perimeter fence on the west side of southbound US-101.

When officers arrived on the scene, witnesses told them a woman jumped from the car and ran away in the median. Officers instructed the witnesses to stand by as they chased after the woman and caught her a short distance away. Martin reportedly immediately attacked the CHP Officers. She began punching, kicking and biting the officers, and continued with her attack until officers were able to take her into custody.

Martin was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. After she was cleared by the hospital CHP Officers transported Martin to the San Luis Obispo County Jail for booking for multiple charges.

This investigation is ongoing, no further details are available at this time.
