Woods Humane Society helps rescue pets displaced by Los Angeles fires

Organization encouraged donations to help efforts

    – Woods Humane Society’s intake team traveled to Los Angeles County on Wednesday to transport 17 animals from an emergency animal shelter supporting those affected by the ongoing fires in the region.

The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control has taken in hundreds of pets displaced by the fires. As part of the relief effort, Woods Humane Society provided basic pet supplies to the emergency shelter and relocated dogs and cats that had been in the shelter before the fires began. This process helps create space for pets temporarily separated from their owners or left unhoused due to the disaster.

Woods Humane Society is in communication with other animal shelters in the affected areas and said it remains prepared to deploy its transport team again as needed.

The organization encourages those interested in supporting its efforts to consider joining its Circle of Compassion monthly sustainer program.
