City Park upgrade and rehabilitation enters final weeks.

–Visitors to Paso Robles City Park will see long-awaited playground equipment being installed as part of the City of Paso Robles rehabilitation project. The project which began in Jan. 2016 is entering its final weeks of construction.

After accepting a State of California Housing-Related Parks Program Grant for $804,450 in November 2014, city council added $650,000 in Redevelopment Funds to construct a project with a total budget of $1.45 million.

SSA Landscape Architects of Santa Cruz was retained to design a new playground, bring all sidewalks and pathways in compliance with ADA regulations, remove the fountain, add a grand entry plaza, repair the gazebo and BBQ, add trees and improve the electrical and irrigation systems.

Brough Construction of Arroyo Grande was awarded the construction contract and they have been working on the job since January. Strict grant funding parameters mean that the majority of the project must be complete by June 30. Final completion is required by July 8.

This project would not have happened without the work of REC Foundation, the group initiated a fundraising campaign to replace the playground and ultimately raised $100,000 to be used for long-term maintenance of the park.

Course they need all the time allowed. Right up to the last day. Giving them to much credit for something they had to do or get nothing.

You mean to tell me they could not find a Landscape Architects company in all of San Luis Obispo County, so the funds would stay locally?? Besides that good job on getting it done.

How about a hose bib for the horseshoe pits?
