Community fundraiser supports children after Cambria carbon monoxide deaths
– A fundraiser has been established to support the three children of John Anthony Ruskey III and Kristen Kelly Ruskey, who died from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning on Feb. 8 at a Cambria home.
The Ruskeys are survived by their children Kasurina, 19, and twins Sean and Aiden, both 16. Funds raised will go toward funeral costs, memorial arrangements, and immediate financial needs for the family. All funds will be managed and distributed by Brent Waldman, a longtime family friend and certified court receiver serving as trustee and advisor for the family.
In a statement released on behalf of the Ruskey children, organizer Jose Caballero shared the following: “On behalf of the Ruskey children, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to this incredible community. The outpouring of love, generosity, and support following the loss of our parents has been a source of immense strength for us. Whether you sent a meal, shared a memory, or offered a prayer, please know that your kindness has touched our hearts deeply. We feel truly blessed to be surrounded by such a caring community during this difficult time.”
As of Monday morning, the fundraiser has brought in over $182,000 towards a $200,000 goal.
