Update: Fires near Shandon fully contained 

Update: Cal Fire posted a final update on fires south of Shandon. All fires 100-percent contained as of 3:30 p.m. Monday afternoon The fires burned 120 total acres.

Firefighters stop progress of six vegetation fires near Shandon

–Six vegetation fires ignited south of Shandon today around noon, according to Cal Fire.

Forward progress on all fires has been stopped as of 2 p.m. The fires are at about 50-percent containment. Estimated total acreage on all fires is 120 acres, according to Cal Fire.

A heat advisory was issued Monday morning for the North County, including the cities of Paso Robles and Atascadero, and remains in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday. No word yet as to the cause of the fires.
