Letter: Don’t be fooled, Justin Fareed is ‘The Establishment’

I recently wrote a post, “Don’t let people outside of the district elect our next representative” which prompted me to dig further. As much as 24th district Congressional candidate Justin Fareed would like you to believe he is “not the establishment candidate” and will “bring a new voice to make change in Washington,” the fact is, Justin is the epitome of an establishment candidate. Up to this point in his 27 years of existence, only 3 years removed from college, Justin has nothing to his name. He hasn’t built a business, he’s never held a leadership position, and never even worked a day in his life (tax records show his claim as VP of his family business was adopted only for candidacy purposes). For someone who attacks “career politicians” in his commercials, it seems Justin is looking to make a career in politics.

Justin is young, impressionable, unaccomplished and not the brightest (just hear him speak). These are perfect characteristics for an establishment candidate. Someone who will go with the flow to keep his first and only job and vote along party lines to gain respect of his elders, specifically Rep. Ed Whitfield. Yes, Justin was an aide to Whitfield in 2012, but this was after Justin’s family donated a lot to Whitfield’s Thoroughbred PAC, which is now contributing to Justin’s campaign. Just follow the money and you’ll see how many favors to politicians and corporations Justin owes. Justin might be the “new generation” candidate, but he stands should to shoulder with the old guard.
