Letter: Grocery Outlet hires laid off Haggen employee 

I just read the article about Haggen.

Christina Van Pelt, my daughter, was hired by Todd at the Grocery Outlet, Paso Robles that is opening up on August 20th.
He also hired 3 others that were laid off at Haggen. Grocery Outlet is a privately owned store with no union involved.

There is one in Atascadero that we checked out and it’s very clean, inexpensive with friendly staff. They have no Courtesy Clerks but Todd said there are other things that she can do and she starts training on August 3rd.

Just thought I’d let you know that there are jobs out there. One girl is at Target, one is at Ross and one at Kohl’s.
