–A full house at the Virginia Peterson multi-purpose room Wednesday night for a preliminary discussion for the Olsen Chandler Ranch Development.
City Planner Susan DeCarli and Public Works Director Dick McKinley answered questions from the crowd, mostly about water and the wisdom of approving a project that will allow the construction of more than 1200 new homes, in addition to another 900 proposed in the Beechwood Plan. The General Plan calls for 560 new homes on the South Chandler Ranch, and 673 new homes on the Olsen Ranch.
Maps located at each table allowed residents to highlight issues they had with the proposal. After the initial discussion, those in attendance worked on the maps, noting preferences and problems, and then shared their issues with the facilitator.
It’s a Neighborhood Design Charrette that gets underway at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon at the Holiday Inn Express, located at 2455 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles.
