Republican Congressional Committee names Katcho as ‘Contender’

Katcho Achadjian.
–The National Republican Congressional Committee announced that California Assembly Member and 24th District Congressional Candidate Katcho Achadjian has been named a “Contender” in the NRCC’s “Young Guns” program.
The “Young Guns” program was founded in 2014 by Congressmen Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy and Eric Cantor to help provide qualified GOP congressional candidates with the tools and resources they need to mount competitive campaigns against democratic opponents.
Achadjian is among 11 congressional candidates in the country that were elevated to “Contender” – the second level in the “Young Guns” program.
“It is a great honor to be named a contender,” said Achadjian. “I’m thankful to be working closely with the NRCC and look forward to the continued momentum of our campaign as we near election day.”
Prior to his election to the California State Assembly, Achadjian served on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors for three consecutive terms.
Also running for the seat: Democrat Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider, Republican Matt Kokkonen, RepublicanJustin Fareed, Democrat Salud Carbajal, and Democrat William Ostrander, and Republican Tyler Gross.
It would appear Katcho is the establishment candidate, in the tradition of Abel Maldanado. I'm not impressed with his Assembly record or his authorship of the water district bill. It's time for Matt Kokkonen. He started talking about illegal immigration years ago, and I have him on record on YouTube. He's not a polished politician with big money behind him, but he's honest and is probably the only one running who will not "go along to get along." Walking through fields with workers (Katcho) or riding a horse (Justin) are not qualifications for representing the people. Matt stands for legal immigration and fiscal responsibility. He will not let the establishment run over him.
