Senator William Monning endorses supervisor candidate
–California State Senator William V. Monning has endorsed Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin’s campaign for county supervisor.

Sen. Bill Monning
Monning was elected in November of 2012 to represent the 17th Senate District, which includes all of San Luis Obispo and Santa Cruz counties, and portions of Monterey and Santa Clara counties. Prior to that, he represented the 27th Assembly District from 2008 to 2012, which included portions of Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Santa Clara counties. Currently, Monning is the Senate Majority Leader, as well as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Legislative Ethics. He also serves as a member of the senate committees on budget, health, judiciary, natural resources and water, public safety, Education and the Budget Subcommittee #3 on Health and Human Services.
“Steve’s track record of bipartisan problem solving and coalition building will serve the North County community well,” said Monning. “I am fully confident that Steve will make an outstanding 1st District Supervisor.”
“Because so much of a supervisor’s duties revolve around interfacing with state government on regional issues and funding, it is extremely important that our local board of supervisors enjoys a productive and open relationship with our state representatives,” said Martin. “The fact that Senator Monning places such confidence in me signals a high level of communication and cooperation will exist when I am elected in the first district.”
Also on the ballot this June: Paso Robles City Councilman John Hamon, Paso Robles retired attorney Dale Gustin, and political strategist John Peschong of Templeton, a small business owner.
